Exterior DuctworkOutdoor ductwork is insulated externally when internal duct liner is not a viable option. Ducts carrying high-humidity air, such as evaporative cooler ducts and ducts downstream of humidifiers, must be insulated externally.
Ducts serving clean room areas and other critical locations are also normally insulated externally. After insulation products are applied to exterior ducts a weather proof jacketing system must be installed. Jacketing systems are most commonly constructed of aluminum, but galvanized steel, stainless steel, cloth and mastic, and bituminous sheet products can also be provided. |
