Interior Piping
Indoor piping systems are insulated for a variety of reasons. The most common reason is energy conservation. Other common reasons include condensation control, personnel protection, and pipeline temperature maintenance.
There are many different insulating materials available for insulating piping systems. While fiberglass materials are the most prevalent, other available options such as flexible elastomeric foam, phenolic foam, cellular glass, Polyisocyanurate, polystyrene, calcium silicate, and polyethylene foam can be used. All of these products are available in a full range of sizes and thicknesses. In general, most piping insulation products are provided with what is known as ASJ or All-Service Jacket. In addition to ASJ, end users often desire external jacketing products such as PVC to offer additional protection to the insulation system. |
